Oxyman - Oxygen Management
Health Care & Fire Prevention.
"Doctor says : Prevention is better than cure.
Fireman says : Oxyman is better than suppression ."
Why Oxyman
1
We realized long ago that most of the suppression systems react when fire and smoke already occur and even than there is no guarantee that they would accomplish the task and there was always a need of simple , economical and effective system to provide 24 x 7 protection .
2
It was Oxyman  hypoxic air, oxygen reduction  technology was developed as proactive solution to Give what customers were looking for long.
3
While doing maintenance we realized that many systems once installed are never properly tested again and most of the time fails when required.
4
There is no other full proof system to continuously perform , demonstrate , display and to give peace of mind by nearly giving fire free protection.
5
Hypoxic air fire prevention systems do not completely replace conventional suppression systems . To make best use of this technology , it is to be used only in the most suitable critical areas with proper study & evaluation

Inertons - True Clean agents for Fire suppression
INERTON -IG-01 , INERTON - IG-55, INERTON -IG-100 @ 200 & 300 BAR
An inert gas is a gas which does not undergo chemical reactions under a set of given conditions. The noble gases and nitrogen often do not react with many substances.
Inert gases are used generally to avoid unwanted chemical reactions degrading a sample. These undesirable chemical reactions are often oxidation and hydrolysis reactions
with the oxygen and moisture in air.
Purified nitrogen and argon gases are most commonly used as inert gases due to their high natural abundance (78% N2, 1% Ar in air) and low relative cost.
The inert gases are obtained by fractional distillation of air.
Advantage of Inert gas :
1
Safe for valuable equipment - Safe for the environment -Maintains extinguishing concentrations
2
No decomposition products- No thermal shock or ice formation
3
Non toxic-Non conductive- Non corrosive- Does not burn- No residues

CO2 Systems
1
For non occupied areas, provided with or without continuous weight monitoring of extinguishing agent contents
FM200 - 25 Bar / 42 Bar / 65 bar
1
Colourless, almost odourless & non-conductive gas
2
Zero Ozone Depletion Potential
3
Safe for human occupied areas
4
Greenhouse effect potential : 2800.
5
Acts by fire cooling and a little by oxygen reduction and chemical action
6
Is the gas that requires the minimum quantity of cylinders needed.
7
Minimum Green house potential among the chemical agents
8
The most known chemical agent ever sold.

Water Mist   Human Friendly Solution

The advantages of 3 Dimensional Water mist systems offer following advantages as :

  • Rapid extinguishment using minimal water quantities and thus help water conservation.
  • Safe for use in manned areas
  • No environmental risk
  • Rapid temperature reduction
  • Minimal secondary damages or energy requirement
  • Cost effective yet simple system with least maintenance
  • Performance based state of art systems
  • connected to main riser or independent system

A primary difference between water mist systems and sprinkler systems is the philosophy of protection. The objective of sprinkler systems is to provide an acceptable degree of fire control/fire suppression prior to intervention by the Fire Service or others.

Water mist systems however are generally designed for fire extinguishing which takes place quite rapidly with limited water supplies. Water mist systems can be used to give fire control, but where this is the primary objective of the system consideration should be given to the duration of discharge with respect to intervention of the Fire Service or others.

This situation also applies where water mist systems are considered for temperature control and exposure protection; consideration should be given in the design to the occurrence of re-ignition and appropriate measures taken.

Water mist systems for Areas with Class A fire as single³ or which operate over a range of pressures typically from 6 Bar to 140 Bar. Nozzles used in water mist systems are specifically designed for the purpose and closed with an integral quick response detector with working pressure from 6 bar up to 140 bar and connected to existing Wet riser line . wherever applicable systems can be integrated with traditional detection to form automatic deluge and wet pipe type arrangements. Used on class ‘A’ fires1 involving solid materials including fires involving electronic equipment.

Not the inlet pressure but water droplets smaller than 300 microns in diameter are a key parameter of water mist systems. In contrast, sprinkler systems operate with water droplet sizes between 100 and up to 2000 microns, which are comparatively Not effective on Class A and some Class B fires but cause lot of water wastage .

System design is a function of a number of variables which may include the specialist contractor to provide the details following:

  • Design objectives · Fire hazard classification · Risk analysis · Risk geometry with CFD · Ventilation factor
  • Health, Safety and Environmental impact · Enclosure characteristics · Nozzle spray characteristics / droplet Size / velocity etc.
  • Effects of obstructions to mist coverage · Detection systems and equipment interface · Water quality
  • Fire load Calculation & Heat absorption per ltr · Duration of discharge time as minimum 30 minutes.

Risks involving Class A combustibles, and an extended duration of discharge is required, the recommendations contained in the manufacturer’s design manual shall be followed.
As many of the design elements are risk specific and relate to unique test work carried out by the original equipment manufacturer, only applications listed as suitable by the water mist equipment manufacturer should be considered.
